Horus Security was founded in Oxford in 2006 and has spent the years since then building a global network of specialist expertise providing high quality security consultancy and intelligence services to clients across a wide range of sectors.
With the opening of our latest office in Austin we are able to extend our security offering to both new clients in North America and the US arms of our existing clients in the rest of the world.
Our North America operation will capitalise on our skills providing critical security services for clients worldwide including global pharmaceutical & healthcare companies, leading research organisations and laboratories, major airports and rail systems, world-renowned universities, government agencies, and global construction and real estate development firms.
Our extended global reach not only means we can provide a ‘follow the sun’ offering across 24 times zones, but also means we can provide fluency in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Polish and Chinese (both Mandarin and Cantonese), and other languages on an on-call basis.
Horus North America Regional Vice President
Ed was an FBI agent for 25 years and was subsequently the Chief Security Officer of two major multinational companies. He leads the new expansion by Horus into North America, where he is actively taking on new clients with a range of different security needs, as well as providing services and advice for Horus worldwide.
Ed joined Horus in 2021 after working for 14 years as the Chief Security Officer of two Fortune 500 healthcare companies that operated around the world. In both cases, he was the first to be appointed to the post and was therefore responsible for establishing all aspects of their global security programmes.
He also served on their risk management councils, was involved in developing and operating background screening, and initiated and led a crisis response programme.
Prior to this, Ed held various leadership, management and investigative positions at FBI Headquarters and four FBI field divisions. Ed was also assigned as a lawyer in the FBI’s Legal Counsel Division and as an FBI Crisis Response Coordinator.
Ed is a graduate of the Missouri University of Science & Technology and the Vanderbilt University School of Law. He is a past member of the state bar associations of Tennessee and Missouri, and is licensed as a private investigator by the State of Texas.

From its base in the Boat Quay district of the city, our Singapore team offers the same complete range of services as other parts of the Horus group and, working with them, helps to ensure we can provide round-the-clock, all time zones coverage for our clients, whatever they need, whenever they need it.
Mei Hui Hoo
Horus Asia Pacific Team Leader
Mei Hui is an intelligence research analyst trained in collecting, processing and scrutinising information for a broad array of client security needs.
A native Singaporean and bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese, Mei Hui has a degree from Nanyang Technological University and initially taught phonetics to pre-school children before joining Horus in 2017.
She now heads our office in the city as the country manager with key responsibilities in management, training, recruitment, team building, operations and finance.
A keen floorball player, Mei Hui is President of a floorball club that plays in Singapore’s Floorball League Division 1 and also plays for the country’s national women’s team.
Boon Hui Khoo
Adviser to Horus Asia Pacific
Boon Hui is an internationally-regarded expert in law enforcement and cybersecurity who has led a distinguished, highly decorated career fighting crime for more than 40 years.
He served as Senior Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, and was for 12 years the Police Commissioner of Singapore from 1997 to 2010 well as President of INTERPOL from 2008 to 2012. He has chaired major international events, including three of the very first US-Singapore homeland security dialogues, and the biennial Milipol APAC security conference.
Boon Hui remains active in INTERPOL, chairing its Governance Working group, and holds advisory and board positions in financial services, fintech, healthcare, security, cybersecurity and philanthropy. He is a Commissioner of the Global Commission on the Stability of Cyberspace and a board member of the CyberPeace Institute. He is also a Senior Fellow of Singapore’s Civil Service College, an Honorary Fellow of St John’s College, Oxford, and a Justice of Peace.
In recognition of his contributions to public service and safety, Boon Hui has been decorated with high national honours from Singapore, Australia, Brunei, France, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and The Vatican. He was educated in Oxford, Harvard and Wharton, and is married with two children
